Ishilla is a nonbinary artist, born in Warsaw, Poland, currently living and working in London, UK. They graduated from a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Mixed Media at University of Westminster, London in 2021. They reference pop culture historical artworks, particularly of French Rococo and Italian Renaissance, to change power dynamics between what one looks at and who is looking and explore spaces in between notions of normativity and queerness. Their use of paint is based on both seduction and the abject, as a way of exploring gender performativity.
